Out-of-the-box Mother’s Day. Bag and accessories by NICOLE VAN DYKE.
For this selection dedicated to Mother’s Day, I have thought out of the box, among unconventional designers which have very personal styles. Some of them are already a little bit known, other are just coming to the surface.
I hope this selection will give you the chance to discover new brands and inspiring worlds… which may be the object of a little gift from your lover in the coming days ;-)!
One. Uma bag and purses by Nicole Van Dyke. I really love the beautiful designs by this New-Yorker who created her brand eleven years ago just when she moved to Paris. Nicole combines gorgeous soft leathers with vintage materials in a retro chic style, always glamourous! All the designs are made in France in a traditional way. You will find beautiful bags, leather goods as well as some stylish garments. You can see them at Paperdolls, located 5 rue Houdon in Paris (18th district).
Two. Galla earrings by Jamini Design, in aqua and golden colours, made in brass and Chalcedony stone. All Usha Bora’s worlds subtly combines Indian materials and traditions with French modernity.
Usha proposes an absolutely charming comprehensive lifestyle collection: cushions, scarfs, booknotes, jewelry… You can discover them on her website or at her shop, located rue du Château d’Eau in Paris (10th district).
Three. Goldin Ciotat blouse by Valentine Gauthier: Slightly oversized short-sleeve top made in viscose georgette with La Ciotat print.
I can’t help inviting you to discover this lovely brand founded by a young woman from Marseille in 2007. Fresh materials, perfect cuts, both classic and resolutely modern, chic and casual at the same time! Love it! A découvrir en ligne ici.

All the designs by this beautiful French brand twist modernity and tradition, with humour and poetry. Watch out, they are ephemeral!Find it here
Five. Mint Mother T-shirt by Selfish Mother: Beautiful tee-shirts and sweatshirts made in organic cotton which nod to motherhood in a pop way… Besides, the sale of these tee-shirts help support women-related causes around the world, especially in countries at war (via Women for Women International). You can find them on Selfish Mother’s website.
Six. Seau Espinal bag by Sok’ Sabaï: Made in cotton knitted by hand by a Colombian tribe. SOK’ SABAI is a very beautiful jewelry and accessories brand which works with selected craftsmen from far-off countries who have a unique expertise. By buying these bags, you will contribute to improve schooling conditions for Wayuu children. A good way to combine ethics with pleasure! Discover its website here.
Seven. La Note Parisienne candle, 9ème arrondissement. Subtly putting together citrus, lavender, verbena, musk and patchouli scents.
I recommend you to try these high quality hand-crafted candles created by Louis Aka and Florent Martin around visual and olfactory worlds of each of the Parisian districts. For the 9th one, notes are inspired by the Folies Bergère and the Moulin Rouge… Find all the fragrances on their webshop.
