Friday cake #22 : tarte sablée aux prunes
Today, this is a very easy fruit pie recipe with a a sandy crust.
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Resting time : 30 minutes
Baking time : 15 minutes + 20 minutes
- 250 g flour
- 150 g butter at room temperature
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60 g caster sugar
- Around 20 plums (medium size)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons almond powder
In a big bowl, pour the flour, the sugar and the salt. Mix. Cut the butter into dices and pour it in the bowl. Knead the dough and make some ‘sand’. Add the egg yolk and knead again. Spread the dough in a floured pie tin and store it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 220°C. Then bake the dough for 15 minutes and let it cool at room temperature.
Once the dough has cooled down, cut the plums into two parts and arrange them in circle on top of the dough. Sprinkle some brown sugar and almond powder on the top and bake the pie for 20 minutes at 220 °C.
Delicious with cream or frozen yogurt!
