Just two weeks before going back to school, last August summer days have got a particular taste, full of both excitement and nostalgia…
To start again Sweet Cabane’s diary, I’d precisely like to talk about a children book dealing with Summer holidays, childhood and nostalgia : Going Fishing, written and illustrated by French mum of 3, Charlotte Virfolet. It’s part of a book series called ‘Siblings’.
Charlotte’s stories are small pieces of art mixing simplicity and poetry and all talking about childhood timeless moments.
Charlotte’s look on childhood is both the mother’s look and the one from the child she used to be. Your kids will particularly adore Going fishing at the end of August to celebrate Summer activities they so much love to do, such as digging, finding shells, climbing through the rocks,…
Going Fishing is also a beautiful object to offer and to preciously keep. Each book is illustrated by hand by Charlotte who uses her own stamps and paints them with watercolor on a beautiful precious thick paper. A true piece of art! Kids and adults really appreciate it at home and can read it again and again because of its amazing distressing effect!
So, I just can recommend you to go and have a look at Charlotte’s website.
Plese note that each book exists in English, French and Italian!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post. See you next week for a new Summer scrumptious recipe!
Have a wonderful week,
