Just two weeks before going back to school, last August summer days have got a particular taste, full of both excitement and nostalgia… To start again Sweet Cabane’s diary, I’d precisely like to talk about a children book dealing with Summer holidays, childhood and nostalgia : Going Fishing, written and illustrated by French mum of 3, Charlotte Virfolet. Thinking like a toddler

I  just turned 40 a few months ago … This turn was not easy, I admit, and I often wonder about what it means to “grow old”: is it a  total process, or is it only physical? Are we losing creativity as we get older or is it possible to create throughout our lives? When I heard the words of Paul Lindley during the lecture series organized by the hotel Martinhal Cascais, I loved the idea that aging is first a…

Children at play

We spent our last Spring break in a lovely cottage in the middle of Sologne countryside (near Orleans, in France), as those who follow me on Instagram have probably already known. Our house was located in the heart of nature : wide-open spaces, rivers, ponds and beautiful woods of oaks, birches and firs. My little Parisians could enjoy the freedom that living outside offers, far from the well-organised activities of the city. On the program : football game, play in the recently acquired tent, drawing on a bench,…

There are different types of food fermentation: Alcoholic fermentation : it transforms the food sugar into ethyl alcohol thanks to the action of yeasts. It also produces glycerol and succinic acid, which are involved in lipid metabolism. This fermentation is commonly used with cereals and fruits to make…
